Senior Database EngineerThe Advisory Reporting Team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Database Engineer with solid grasp of programming fundamentals, software design, and practices to support transformational work with our team.The ideal candidate will be developing the environment and reporting solutions in Snowflake and PowerBI. Expert SQL skills, problem analysis skills, and strong communication skills needed for the role.The Expertise and Skills You Bring:Experience on Cloud, Big Data Concepts, and tools – AWS, Data Lake, SnowflakeProven track record in multiple IT areas that include Database development, Data Warehousing, mid-tier development & Cloud servicesProven experience working with BI solutions, namely PowerBI or similar data visualization and reporting applicationsProven data modeling and solution design experienceAbility to read and interpret physical data modelsAwareness of CI/CD approachesDegree in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) requiredSophisticated working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL knowledge and relational databases and data warehousesCuriosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems.Experienced with data normalization and denormalization techniquesExperience in query performance tuning for reporting solutionsExperienced with AWS cloud servicesGood communication skills including written, verbal, and technology illustrationsCapacity to quickly understand and incorporate new technologiesFamiliarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban and Scrum), framework and the value it bringsSuperlative experience using MSFT excelExperience with Financial Services data a plusThe Senior Database Engineer on the Advisory Reporting Team is responsible for design and development of highly available data solutions that support Managed solutions applications that service our customers as well as our representatives. The engineer will also be a technical lead for the team and has responsibility for solution design, solving key technical challenges and mentoring the team.
