Sr. Data Scientist (Forecasting) will help Nestlé USA Digital deliver production forecasting capabilities by partnering with Supply Chain Planning and Analytics teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy statistical and machine learning forecasting models in production on cloud-based analytics platforms
  • Improve forecast performance through demand pattern recognition, algorithm selection, outlier correction, and parameter optimization to reduce bias and increase accuracy
  • Create and maintain structured, programmatic forecasting processes that run at scale, leveraging ML Ops to automate weekly forecast generation and reduce manual effort
  • Embed Agentic AI and GenAI into forecasting workflows to surface accuracy improvement opportunities, automate root cause analysis, and support insights and decisions
  • Evaluate and apply emerging AI/ML methods including deep learning and probabilistic forecasting to improve accuracy and scalability across a portfolio of SKUs, clusters, and data sources
  • Act as a liaison between technical and functional teams, partnering with Supply Chain Planning leads and stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, and Sales to align business needs with solutions
  • Support Enterprise Forecasting initiatives through the One Planning program, including work that enables standardized, scalable, cross-functional forecasting solutions
  • Deliver training and forecast office hours for Supply Chain Planning users to build analytics literacy and promote adoption
  • Build and enhance Power BI dashboards for forecast KPI monitoring and data validation; communicate results using data visualization and PowerPoint tailored to the audience

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, forecasting, or advanced analytics, with hands-on experience in SQL , Python , or a similar language
  • 5+ years of experience extracting, transforming, and analyzing large datasets, and creating data visualizations to communicate insights
  • 3+ years of experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production, including regression, classification, time series modeling, and feature engineering

Preferred

  • Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, business, or a related discipline
  • Experience with ML Ops practices, cloud and AI/ML platforms including Databricks , Snowflake , and Microsoft Azure , plus GenAI solutions and Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale transformation or Supply Chain planning initiatives in an Agile environment

Job Details

  • Location: Arlington, VA (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 110,000 - 160,000 per year
  • Minimum experience: 3 years
