Senior Data Engineer OpportunityK?STA I.T. is actively seeking a Senior Data Engineer for two immediate full-time opportunities with our industry leading client.A Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and managing data platforms and tools that enable efficient processing, analysis, and utilization of large-scale data. This role focuses on developing scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting the deployment of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions into production environments.This individual partners closely with business and technical teams to enhance data models, improve accessibility, and drive data-informed decision-making.
The role supports both real-time and batch processing capabilities and translates complex business requirements into scalable, high-performing data solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines to process large volumes of dataBuild and support tools for data ingestion, transformation, curation, and provisioning across first- and third-party data sourcesDevelop advanced data products and APIs to enable analytics, reporting, and data science use casesMonitor system performance, conduct testing, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancementsLead data analysis efforts and design data architectures that support business intelligence, AI/ML, and data product initiativesDesign and implement scalable data platform architectures that meet organizational needs for performance, flexibility, and reliabilityEnsure solutions meet operational requirements such as scalability, maintainability, extensibility, and data integrityProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team membersLead code reviews and promote best practices, including test-driven development and CI/CDRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related fieldMaster's degree preferred8+ years of experience in data engineering, including full-stack data capabilities10+ years of experience in software development or programming5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)Strong SQL expertise and data querying skillsTechnical Skills:Proficiency in Python and experience with CI/CD practicesExperience with machine learning pipelines and production deployment (preferred)Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Spark, Fabric or similar technologies)Strong background in infrastructure and cloud-based data architecturesExperience designing and building data pipelines for big data, NoSQL, and data warehouse solutionsFamiliarity with real-time streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Event Hub or similar)Experience with RESTful APIs, messaging systems, and integration patternsHands-on experience with cloud-native data services (e.g., data lakes, ETL tools, streaming services, analytics platforms)Strong expertise in data architecture and data modelingExperience implementing data quality frameworks and data governance practicesFamiliarity with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or similar)Additional Qualifications:Experience working in Agile environmentsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to occasionally support off-hours work as neededAbout K?STA I.T.:Our name says it all; K?STA I.T.
