Senior Marine Underwriter / DirectorWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Marine Underwriter / Director to drive profitable growth across our marine portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for underwriting strategy, distribution expansion, and portfolio performance across key marine lines. You will operate with broad underwriting authority, lead critical broker relationships, influence product innovation, and play a pivotal role in scaling a specialized marine business within a growth-focused organization.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderwriting & Portfolio LeadershipOwn and manage a profitable book of marine business (new and renewal)Exercise advanced underwriting authority and pricing strategy within carrier guidelinesAnalyze portfolio performance, loss trends, and market dynamics to optimize resultsStructure and negotiate complex risks with brokers and partnersDistribution Strategy & Relationship ManagementDevelop and execute a strategic broker/agency growth planCultivate and expand relationships with key producers and distribution partnersIdentify, recruit, and onboard new high-value trading partnersProduct Development & Market ExpansionLead or contribute to new product/program developmentMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging risksRecommend and implement strategic adjustments to drive growthLeadership & MentorshipMentor and develop junior underwriting talentServe as a subject matter expert on complex marine risksPromote underwriting excellence and best practices across the teamOperational ExcellenceOversee account servicing, endorsements, and policy lifecycle managementReview inspections and ensure appropriate underwriting actions are takenRequirementsBachelor's degree or relevant insurance designation (CPCU, ARM, etc.
