Sr. Client Service Consultant – Employee Benefits Team, Sioux Falls, SD
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of a client account, including primary responsibility for maintaining overall relationship with client at the executive level;
- Communicate complex client strategies to partners;
- Develop and manage the scope of services for each client, including overall healthcare strategy and a financial budget;
- Work with the sales team to determine specific scope of services and responsibilities;
- Review insurance in place, assess future needs of client, develop and implement growth strategies for each client, resulting in increased revenue of existing client base as well as Company revenue;
- Draft complex Request for Proposals (RFPs) for review, make requested edits, distribute RFPs to insurance carrier market, ensure timely response by insurance carriers, negotiate with vendors, summarize and analyze proposals;
- Draft and deliver client presentations and communications tailored to each client’s employee population;
- Provide final review of employee communications, proposals, documents and contracts; provide feedback to service team members as needed;
- Oversee management of the financial budget for each client;
- Review monthly Company produced Monthly Financial Summary Report (MFSR) for self‑funded clients and quarterly insurance carrier produced reports for fully insured clients;
- Provide regular written updates to the client on tracking of the health plan according to the financial budget;
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum five years administrative, customer service, or office experience, preferably in the insurance industry (brokerage or provider organization).
- Licensing: Active state‑specific Life & Health Insurance agent license required or ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
- Technical Competencies: Invested in understanding and applying insurance principles to consult with clients and meet strategic needs; actively contributes to workflows, processes, and deliverables using agency systems to provide a world‑class client experience and ensure compliance; able to understand clients, prioritize tasks, manage status, and deliver impactful solutions proactively.
