Location: Chicago, IL 60601 (Hybrid) Pay Rate: $27/hr (Paid Weekly) Duration: 3-Month Contract (potential extension or full-time conversion based on performance, attendance, and business needs) Schedule: Monday–Friday | Standard Business Hours Start Date: ASAP (pending onboarding)
Hybrid Requirement: Candidates must have their own equipment for remote work.
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Sr. Buyer to manage purchasing activities, source goods and services, and support procurement operations using Oracle Cloud. You'll work closely with vendors, internal stakeholders, and purchasing teams to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely fulfillment while supporting strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor transactions in Oracle Cloud.
- Source goods and services while securing the best value, quality, and service.
- Prepare and analyze RFQs for non-contracted purchases.
- Manage vendor records, perform audits, and maintain accurate vendor data.
- Handle special orders, rush requests, returns, and purchase order acknowledgements.
- Resolve Oracle Cloud purchasing issues and Help Desk tickets.
- Partner with vendors to maintain online catalogs and punchout systems.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier diversity goals.
- Assist with Oracle Cloud user training and provide purchasing guidance to remote teams.
- Resolve purchasing issues including pricing discrepancies, late deliveries, shortages, and quality concerns.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, including HIPAA and procurement standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience.
- Experience processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Knowledge of purchasing procedures and contract negotiations.
- Experience with automated purchasing systems.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Purchasing.
