Sr. Data EngineerDuration: 12 MONTHS (contract to hire)Location: Reston VA (Hybrid)Job description:Analyze and assess the quality and integrity of the data including Reference DataDevelop and implement complex reports/dashboards using MicroStrategyUnderstand the meaning/business context of dataAcquire data from internal or external data sources and maintain mapping documents of the files, databases/data systems.Evaluate risk from statistical information to determine risk to operations or non-compliance.Work closely with data analysts and assisted in creating Mapping Doc.Data profiling experienceRequired Qualifications:5-8 Years' ExperienceMust have MicroStrategy development experienceStrong SQL and data modelling skills like 3rd normal form and dimensional modellingDemonstrated ability to perform complex queries, assess data quality and develop data mappings.Experience with multiple data warehousing and analytics development projectsBachelor of Science in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science related fieldsMust have hands on experience with Linux Operating Systems.Must have ability to understand and work with code developed by other BI developers.Must have ability to work independently.Must have extensive experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.Must have strong experience in continuous integration within DevOps environment.Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in English).Good to have experience working with API Management Tools.Good to have Experience working with GIT/BitBucket.Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of U.S. Healthcare IndustryWorking knowledge of HEDIS, Fraud, Waste & AbuseWorking knowledge of ETLExperience with Hadoop and Big Data technologiesWorking knowledge of ALMWorking knowledge of COBOLStrong DB2, Java, and UNIX skillsUnderstanding and working (hands-on) knowledge of newer or emerging trends such as Big Data, Columnar databases, NoSQL, Hadoop, MapReduce, social media, data visualization, XML, and unstructured text is a plus.
