They thrive in detail while maintaining a firm grasp of the big picture, driving trust, clarity, and performance in high-stakes environments.How You Add ValueFunctional:Lead, manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing direction, establishing priorities and goals, and ensuring resources are available to accomplish goalsImplement and document policies, procedures, processes and controls as needed for all areas of department responsibilityMonitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company proceduresAssist with internal and external audits and serve as primary liaison to auditing firmsOversee production of standardized financial and management reports across all asset classesCoordinate the collection of required monthly financial information from asset class teamsManage processes and ensure all accounting, month-end/quarter-end deliverables and reporting are completed timely and accuratelySupport the asset acquisition and disposition processes conducted by portfolio companies and BlackstoneCoordinate activities with portfolio companies external accounting service providers as neededProvide guidance and direction on accounting policies utilized by Blackstone and Portfolio CompaniesAssist accounting teams in addressing different accounting requirements of Blackstone Real Estate Funds (private entities, public entities, joint ventures, REIT)Manage the process to prepare reports required by lenders subject to financing as neededIdentify and implement process improvements and automation opportunitiesIdentify and implement a training plan to enable team members to support multiple asset classes and functionsRelationship Management:Accountable to Blackstone and its real estate Portfolio Company's for timely and accurate reportingLead initiatives to ensure smooth business partner experience across the teamServe as the primary daily point of contact for Revantage business partners and BlackstoneRespond to business partner inquiries and commit to deliverables by leveraging resources across the teamPartner with senior managers to identify and drive external relationships with the team's key contacts and stakeholdersWhat You Bring to the RoleRequired:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum 10 years of experience in real estate accounting including experience with financial reportingMinimum 3 years of experience leading and managing a teamCPA certificationKnowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Knowledge of SEC reporting requirements/public company reportingKnowledge of REIT accounting and reportingKnowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance requirementsStrong leadership and people management skillsExcellent client service skills and ability to partner with multiple, diverse stakeholdersAbility to identify, develop and execute a business strategy for an organization and manage the associated financial reportingStrong change management skills with the ability to drive organizational, process and technology changePassion for making business processes more efficient and successfulExperience with developing, implementing and monitoring internal controlsStrong team player with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, while thriving in a fast-paced work environmentExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong computer skills in Microsoft applications of Excel, Word, and PowerPointPreferred:Big 4 Public Accounting experienceCommercial real estate fund reporting experience (open-ended fund, closed-end fund, separate account, and/or REIT-related)Experience with Workday Financials, Yardi, or MRI, and financial reporting toolsBase Compensation Range:$185,000.00 To $200,000.00 Annually. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company's base compensation range for this position.
