We work together to win, grow, and make a real impact—supported by a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative environment where you can be your best, every day.Job Title: Senior Analyst – Consolidation ReportingDepartment: Finance Reports to: Manager, Corporate Accounting Location: Norwalk, CT (Hybrid)General Purpose of Job: The Senior Associate will be responsible for overseeing tasks related to the financial reporting requirements for the Newell Brands global consolidation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Primarily responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our financial reporting for our segmentsAnalytically review results for each reporting unit and identify unexplained or unexpected variances and work with counterparts to resolve any potential issuesIdentify data validation issues and work to resolveResponsible for the accounting function maintaining restructuring and related accruals including recording journal entries, preparing reconciliations and roll-forwardsCreate and maintain consolidation adjustments for reporting units, as needed including reviewing foreign currency translation and ensure amounts are appropriateFacilitate the resolution of intercompany out of balance conditionsAssist in accounting for areas such as corporate Treasury and Tax transactionsSupport supplemental reporting that directly impact account roll forwards and the statement of cash flows including management of data flow from our main ERP system into HFMUnderstand our consolidation system (HFM) including requirements, reporting and system functionalityResponsible for preparing select financial statements footnotes that support SEC filings in accordance with US GAAPAssist with special projects within the team as well as with other corporate departments or operating units, as neededEnsure businesses are adhering to financial policies, practices and procedures, including internal control protocolsWork directly with internal and external auditors on specific requestsSkills and Qualifications:Highly motivated, self-starter with a commitment to quality and integrityStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate with other departments to support overall finance department and company goals, initiatives, and directivesAbility to multi-task, work under pressure and ensure work is properly allocated to meet deadlines requiredMaintain organized and detailed files documenting accounting issues, processes, and proceduresStrong understanding of U.S. GAAPStrong problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks/deliverablesContinually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunitiesEducation and Experience:Accounting degree, CPA preferredA minimum of 3-6 years accounting experience and familiarity with areas of multi-national financial reporting and multi-currency consolidations, SEC reporting, public company experience preferredExperience working in a consumer-packaged goods (CPG), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and/or consumer durables industry preferredSolid understanding of general ledger systems and foreign currency translationProficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel is a mustPrior SAP, Blackline, Hyperion Financial Management experience is a plusPhysical Requirements: NoneWorking Conditions: Office position that at times requires overtime and weekend work, light travel at times may be requiredThe Connecticut pay range for this position is from $95,000 – 110,000.
