As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting Beckwith Electric's protection, control, and automation solutions. This position serves as a technical expert, customer advocate, and informal team leader, helping utilities successfully apply, configure, and operate mission-critical systems. You will collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales to ensure high-quality solutions and exceptional customer outcomes. In addition to technical responsibilities, this role contributes to mentorship, knowledge sharing, and operational leadership within the Technical Support team.A Day In The Life Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.Provide advanced technical support for Beckwith Electric products and system applicationsInterpret customer requirements and recommend optimal solutionsTroubleshoot complex field and system issuesDevelop deep expertise across distribution and automation product portfoliosSupport product configuration, settings, and certification testingGuide customers on best practices for system integration and operationAssist with installation, commissioning, and operational challengesProvide real-time technical analysis for customer issuesWork closely with engineering, product management, and sales teamsSupport product development through customer feedback and application insightsDeliver technical training, product demonstrations, and presentationsDevelop documentation, white papers, and application guidesCapture and communicate customer needs, market trends, and product gapsInfluence product improvements and innovationServes as a technical mentor and leader to junior engineers and support staff.Provides guidance, coaching, and knowledge transfer on complex technical issues and best practices.May lead projects, coordinate team efforts, or act as an escalation point for critical customer support issues.All other duties as assigned by managementWhat Will Help You Thrive In This Role?
Education And/Or Experience:BS degree in electrical engineeringMinimum 7+ years of experience in power systems, protection, or grid automationStrong technical knowledge of distribution utility systemsExperience with relay protection, automation controls, or grid modernizationExperience in Electric Utility Industry preferredExperience in Application Engineering, Product Engineering is desirable3 + years prior experience in customer-facing technical roles as well as general knowledge of power distribution systemsSkills & Knowledge:Knowledge of the company's products and services and their application in the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power or similar vendors.Ability to meet and work with customers at all levels within the organization.Troubleshooting over the phone, asks the right questions and talks individual through problem to solution.Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearlyAbility to work cross-functionally and influence without authorityHighly self-motivated with excellent organization and time managementHubbell Incorporated Hubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
