Sr AnimatorSenior Animators create high quality motion of computer graphics creatures and objects within a shot, using a variety of animation software programs, and working under the general supervision of Animation Supervisors.Manage the creation of outstanding animation for graphics creatures and objects within a shot, using various animation software programsComprehend and execute direction from Lead Animator or Animation SupervisorMay supervise the work of entry, mid and mid-high level animators at the discretion of the Animation SupervisorParticipate as a team member in achieving various aesthetic solutions; provides feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basisExpected to train and mentor new Animators as well as provide technical assistance to the show supervisors before and during the productionMaintain or exceed a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality workPerforms other tasks related to the creation of computer-generated animationOccasionally may be required to perform hands-on shot work on show and provide reference performances including motion capture performances as part of assigned shot work and to assist the animation teamAt least five years of relevant professional VFX experience and at least a college level diploma or higher in computer graphics, fine arts, design, or photography, or related field; OR at least seven years of relevant professional VFX experience in lieu of educationExpert knowledge of traditional animation, acting, film production and compositional design while demonstrating exceptional skills as an animator based as evidenced by portfolio, demo reel and referencesCompletion of a minimum of two years as a Mid-Level Animator in conjunction with recommendations for advancement by the Animation Supervisors and the Department ManagerExcellent organization and communications skillsProficiency with Linux desiredExpert knowledge of Maya, proprietary and other software programsKnowledge of chaining and constraint techniquesThe hiring range for this position in San Francisco is $117,900 to $150,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
