Position Summary
The Senior Analyst, Plan Terminations serves as the subject matter expert and process owner for plan termination activities. This role independently manages the end-to-end lifecycle of plan termination projects, including single-employer plan terminations, MEP and PEP terminations, and spin-off and termination transactions associated with employers exiting multiple employer plans (MEPs) and pooled employer plans (PEPs).The Senior Analyst exercises discretion and independent judgment to interpret plan provisions, evaluate facts and circumstances, and determine or recommend appropriate resolution paths within established authority. The Senior Analyst demonstrates expertise in retirement plan administration, plan operations, and plan documents to evaluate termination requests, identify required actions, resolve issues, and ensure plan terminations are completed accurately and in accordance with established requirements.
The Senior Analyst is also responsible for the review and management of Exit Policy Forms, including evaluating client intent, gathering or clarifying information as needed, independently determining the appropriate exit type and workflow within established authority. The role works with internal departments and clients throughout the termination process and contributes to the continued improvement of plan termination procedures, workflows, quality controls, reporting, and technology solutions.
Essential Functions
Plan Termination Management
· Manage plan termination projects from initial request through final plan closeout.
· Interpret plan documents and applicable requirements; evaluate plan, client, and operational information; determine the appropriate termination approach and required actions; and ensure necessary information and documentation are obtained.
· Develop and manage termination project plans, monitor progress and outstanding requirements, and ensure appropriate follow-up through completion.
· Analyze and resolve complex or unusual termination issues, make recommendations or decisions within established authority, and escalate matters that present significant legal, compliance, financial, or client risk.
· Coordinate preparation, review, execution, and maintenance of plan termination documentation and related records.
Exit Policy Form Management
· Review and manage Exit Policy Forms to understand client intent and determine the appropriate exit type and workflow.
· Identify missing or inconsistent information and obtain additional information or clarification as necessary.
· Code retirement plans according to the determined exit intent using approved company coding standards.
· Maintain appropriate tracking and documentation of Exit Policy requests and related determinations.
Client and Cross-Functional Management
· Manage a complex, cross-functional workflow to ensure all required plan termination tasks are completed.
· Communicate with clients regarding termination requirements, outstanding information, project status, and next steps.
· Work across internal departments to facilitate completion of termination-related activities and resolve outstanding issues.
· Serve as a subject matter resource for internal questions related to plan termination processes and assigned exit matters.
Quality and Process Improvement
· Perform quality reviews and maintain accurate documentation of termination projects, decisions, communications, and completed activities.
· Develop and maintain plan termination procedures, workflows, templates, checklists, and other process documentation.
· Independently identify, recommend, and lead approved improvements tothe efficiency, consistency, tracking, reporting, and scalability of plan termination processes, including technology and workflow enhancements.
· Assist with training and knowledge sharing related to plan termination and Exit Policy processes.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Demonstrates expertise in retirement plans and retirement plan administration.
· Demonstrates expertise in 401(k) plan operations and plan documents.
· Proven ability to review and interpret plan and client information and determine appropriate next steps.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong project management and organizational skills.
· Proven ability to independently manage complex projects and multiple priorities through completion.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence outcomes without formal authority.
· Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and recognize when matters require escalation.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
· Experience with Relius and Salesforce administration systems preferred.
Experience
· Minimum of 5years of progressively responsible retirement plan administration, operations, or related retirement industry experience required.
· Demonstrated experience interpreting qualified retirement plan documents, applying operational and regulatory requirements, and resolving complex plan administration issues.
· Experience managing projects or coordinating work across multiple functional areas preferred.
· Client-facing experience preferred.
· PEP/MEP experience is preferred.
Education
· Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Certifications
· Retirement industry designation preferred.

What’s in it for you Package
This role will have a base pay range of $70,000 - $85,000 . Please know, this is the base range only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for this role. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
