Sr. Administrator, Systems & Network

Zentalis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing azenosertib (ZN-c3), a potentially first-in-class and best-in-class WEE1 inhibitor for patients with Cyclin E1+ platinum-resistant ovarian cancer (PROC). Azenosertib is being evaluated as a monotherapy and in combination across multiple tumor types in clinical trials and has broad franchise potential. In clinical trials, azenosertib has been well tolerated and has demonstrated anti-tumor activity as a single agent across multiple tumor types. The Company is also leveraging its extensive experience and capabilities to translate its science to advance research on additional areas of opportunity for azenosertib outside PROC.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining, evaluating, and improving the security of Zentalis systems and networks, across all locations with the guidance of senior team members and management. Providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, network infrastructure, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions. This unique position allows the candidate to become actively involved with both the hardware, software, network infrastructure, cloud services and infrastructure, data center, and cybersecurity sides of information technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans; recommend and track remediation efforts
• Monitor and manage security systems (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), etc.)
• Support incident response planning and execution, including forensics and reporting
• Ensure secure configurations and patch management for systems and networks.
• Document Work Instructions for Security tasks
• Deploy and perform administrative roles for Active Directory/AzureAD and/or hybrid environment
• Perform server backups, security management, and maintaining system documentation.
• Create and maintain detailed network documentation
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software or other network and system problems.
• Maintain network firewalls, servers, VM’s, routers, VPNs, and switches.
• Manage deployment of updates, security patches, and virus protection for network devices and computers.
• Monitor log events generated by firewalls, security appliances and security applications
• Monitor and maintain security applications ensuring network security and connectivity.
• Provide some technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, applications, network, software, and hardware. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, enthusiasm, and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize support requirements.
• Problem solving, strategic planning, multi-tasking, quality focus.
• Maintain exceptional customer service by meeting or exceeding established service level agreements (SLA’s). Document updates and completion information in Zentalis’ help desk system.
• Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or relevant field
• 5+ years of experience in IT security or a combination of system/network administration with an emphasis on security. Preferred experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
• Proficient with site-to-site VPN, firewall, windows server, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and Defender.
• Strong technical knowledge and abilities in security information
• Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security.
• Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.)
• MCSE, CISSP, or CCNP certification a plus.
• Familiar with PKI and application control.
• Some lightweight lifting of 50 lbs.
