The role requires strong collaboration across Shared Services, HR, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, Business Controllers, FP&A, and Operations teams to ensure operational accounting activities are executed accurately, controlled effectively, and supported by strong reconciliations and documentation.This is an ideal role for a professional seeking to deepen expertise in Finance Operations and Operational Accounting within a complex multinational environment, while building toward future Operational Controllership responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage and oversee operational accounting activities across Treasury, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and other assigned subledger areasEnsure operational subledgers reconcile accurately and completely to the General LedgerMaintain strong ownership of reconciliation quality, aging management, and operational accounting accuracy across assigned processesSupport and oversee accounting activities related to:Treasury and cash operationsPayroll and compensation accountingFixed assets and capital accountingEnsure journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules are completed accurately and timelyPartner with operational stakeholders to investigate discrepancies and improve accounting execution and process reliabilityProvide operational accounting oversight across Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash workflowsMonitor GR/IR accounts, unapplied cash, aging AP/AR balances, and clearing accounts to identify operational accounting risks and reconciliation issuesPartner with Shared Services and operational teams to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and process breakdownsSupport and coordinate intercompany accounting, reconciliations, settlements, and reporting activitiesLead resolution of intercompany imbalances by coordinating with domestic and international counterpartsEnsure operational intercompany processes support timely and accurate reporting and eliminationsReview and manage tax-related balance sheet accountsSupport Tax teams with reconciliations, reporting support, account analysis, and audit inquiriesEnsure operational accounting activities comply with company accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standardsRegularly evaluate the effectiveness of controls across operational accounting processes and subledgersIdentify operational risks, reconciliation weaknesses, process inefficiencies, and control gapsDrive process improvements, automation opportunities, and standardization initiatives to improve accounting accuracy and reduce manual effortSupport finance transformation and systems enhancement initiatives across Finance OperationsQualifications & ExperienceExperience5+ years of progressive operational accounting experience within a large corporate or multinational environmentStrong experience supporting high-volume accounting processes and subledger accounting activitiesEducationBachelor's degree in accounting or financeCPA or CPA-track preferredTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of:Operational accounting processesSubledger-to-General Ledger integrationBalance sheet reconciliations and controlsIFRSAdvanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilitiesSAP or similar ERP experience requiredExperience with Blackline, Power BI, Alteryx, or Power Automate is a plusProfessional CapabilitiesStrong ownership mindset and accountabilityExceptional attention to detail and reconciliation accuracyStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to independently identify issues, investigate root causes, and drive resolutionEffective cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced environmentContinuous improvement mindset with focus on operational excellence and automationAbout KONEAt KONE, we foster an innovative and collaborative culture, valuing each individual's contribution.
