Senior AccountantToray Advanced Composites (TAC) is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, sporting goods, motor sport, and industrial markets. You will find our thermoset composite products on nearly every satellite, space launch vehicle, unmanned aircraft, military, and commercial aircraft in production today. TAC also provides composite materials to industrial and recreational applications including mountain bikes, medical prosthetics, and sports equipment.Our thermoplastic prepregs, known in the industry as Cetex, are found in a wide range of commercial and military aircrafts, including large wing structures and interior applications like seats and galleys.

Our Cetex products are available in unidirectional tape or fabric form in a variety of engineered thermoplastic resins including PAEK, PEKK, PEEK, PPS, PEI as well as a full line of performance thermoplastics including Nylon, PET, HDPE, and PP.The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely completion of month-end close activities. This role owns assigned balance sheet accounts, performs reconciliations and analyses, manages expense-related accounting processes, and collaborates cross-functionally to support accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Please note that duties and responsibilities may be modified at any time, with or without prior notice, to meet business needs.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain ownership of prepaid accounts, including monthly reconciliations and amortization schedulesPrepare and post reclassification entries, including OPEX, CAPEX, vendor credits, and true-up adjustmentsReview aging items and partner with stakeholders to resolve outstanding balances.Perform monthly fluctuation analysis and provide supporting explanations for account activityManage end-to-end accounting for corporate credit cards and employee expense reimbursementsPrepare credit card and non-credit card expense accrualsAdminister the company expense management system, including user maintenance GL mapping, payment processing, reporting, and issue resolutionEnsure compliance with company policies and timely resolution of discrepanciesServe as co-owner of the monthly RGNI reconciliation processPartner with Accounts Payable and Procurement teams to investigate and resolve outstanding itemsPrepare required journal entries and account adjustmentsTrack and report monthly metrics related to account aging and resolution progressPrepare and complete assigned balance sheet account reconciliationsInvestigate and resolve reconciling items and account variances on a timely basisMaintain ownership and accountability for assigned general ledger accountsEnsure compliance with company accounting policies and proceduresPrepare, review, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and other month-end adjustmentsPerform monthly operating expense fluctuation analysis and investigate significant variancesComplete intercompany reconciliations and coordinate confirmations with affiliated entitiesPrepare and maintain intercompany schedules and supporting documentationSupport timely and accurate completion of the monthly financial close processPrepare and upload assigned Cognos reporting packages in accordance with reporting deadlinesSupport financial reporting and consolidation activitiesPrepare audit schedules and supporting documentationRespond to auditor requests and assist with year-end audit requirementsStrong working knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax regulations, with the ability to apply relevant rules accurately and consistentlyCollaborate effectively with Sales Operations, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, and Accounts Payable to ensure proper tax treatment of all customer invoices and vendor transactionsAbility to identify taxable purchases and record accurate use tax accruals during month-end closeServe as backup support for Accounts Payable functions during team member absencesParticipate in process improvement, automation, and system enhancement initiatives, including ERP testing and implementation activitiesAssist with the organization's forecasting and budgeting processesMentor and support junior team members by offering guidance, reviewing work as needed, and promoting best practices in accounting operationsMaintain accounting-related forms, policies, and supporting documentation as neededPerform other accounting duties and special projects as assignedExperience and/or Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field requiredMinimum of 7 years of experience in general ledger accounting, accounts payable, or corporate accountingExperience in a manufacturing environment preferredStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) experience preferredSupervisory experience a plusDemonstrated expertise in account reconciliations and discrepancy resolutionStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsHigh level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detailExperience supporting process improvement, automation, or system implementation projects is preferredAbility to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretionExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levelsStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlinesMust comply with all company safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirementsPhysical Requirements:Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
