Senior AccountantJones Petroleum is in the process of interviewing candidates for a Senior Accountant position for our Jackson, GA office. This a forty (40) hour a week position with benefits.General Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions, including billing, collections, payables, payroll, and sales taxes. Reports to the Controller and potentially supervises others.
Responsible for management and direction of the financial team with immediate responsibility for financial practices, maintenance of fiscal records, and the preparation of timely financial reports.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee weekly billing processSupport collections efforts by providing managers with timely reports and sending reminders to customersOversee payables, reimbursable expenses, and credit card paymentsOversee sales tax calculations and remittanceReconcile balance sheet accountsReconcile bank statements to general ledgerFixed assets maintenance and depreciation entriesPrepaid expenses, accrued expenses & client deposits maintenance and journal entriesTimely monthly close of the financial statementsEffective communication with the Controller on P&L status and bank reportingPreparation of audit schedules and completion of other projects assigned by the ControllerComplete month and end-year processesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accountingStrong working knowledge of Peachtree/Sage and Microsoft ExcelAt least 5 years of accounting experience requiredDetail oriented with the ability to multi-taskStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience supervising others is a plusCPA license preferredNote: This company participates in the E-verify program.
