Work Arrangement: Hybrid | 4 Days Onsite per Week
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $40.00-$55.00/hour, based on experience
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant, IT for an open-ended contract opportunity in Addison, TX. This role is responsible for accounting activities supporting IT departments and projects, including monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure accounting.
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting activities for assigned IT departments, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and monthly reporting.
• Partner with IT leadership and Finance on departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and appropriate capital versus expense treatment.
• Calculate and record capitalized labor, FTE allocations, and monthly departmental allocations.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including construction in progress (CIP), asset additions, transfers, and disposals.
• Prepare monthly IT financial reporting packages and analyze budget variances.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Support audits, capital expenditure planning, and ad hoc financial projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle and Hyperion.
• IT department accounting or financial operations experience.
• Experience with fixed assets, capital expenditures, capitalized labor, and construction in progress (CIP).
