Senior Installation Technician – Access Control SystemsSource 1 Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Installation Technician – Access Control Systems to lead and execute commercial security system deployments across customer sites. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and supporting Access Control solutions while mentoring junior technicians and ensuring projects are delivered to quality, safety, and timeline standards.The ideal candidate is highly technical, field-experienced, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently or as a site lead on complex installations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead installation, configuration, and commissioning of Access Control systems in commercial and industrial environmentsPerform device mounting, low-voltage cabling, terminations, panel installation, and system programmingRead and interpret construction drawings, risers, and scopes of workConfigure controllers, readers, door hardware interfaces, power supplies, and network connectionsPerform system testing, troubleshooting, and validation prior to customer acceptanceServe as on-site technical lead when required, coordinating junior technicians and subcontractorsProvide clear daily/weekly progress reporting to Project ManagementWork closely with PMs and Engineers to resolve field design issuesMaintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings, labeling, and close-out materialsEnsure installations meet manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable codesInterface professionally with customers, GCs, and other trades on siteTravel to customer locations as requiredRequired Experience & Skills5+ years hands-on experience installing commercial Access Control systemsStrong understanding of door hardware integration (mag locks, strikes, panic hardware, REX, contacts)Experience with controller panels and power distributionKnowledge of low-voltage structured cabling (CAT6, composite, RS-485)Proven troubleshooting ability across hardware, cabling, network, and softwareAbility to independently complete installs from rough-in through commissioningComfortable working in construction environments and at heightStrong communication and documentation skillsExperience leading or mentoring field techniciansPreferred Additional QualificationsExperience with CCTV integrationBasic networking knowledge (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE)Experience with enterprise security deploymentsLift certification or willingness to obtainManufacturer certificationsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to climb ladders and operate liftsComfortable working in ceilings, tight spaces, and outdoor environmentsAbility to stand or walk for extended periodsWork RequirementsValid driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to pass background check and drug screeningProfessional appearance and customer-facing demeanorWillingness to travel as required
