SQL Server DBA with Azure Cloud ExpertiseLocation: 2 Broadway NYC Duration: 12 Months Contract PositionResponsibilities:Database technical design, storage configuration, space management, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, troubleshootingDevelopment and maintenance of integrated databases and technical assistance in the design of new systems and/or modifications to existing systems including data modelingDatabase programming and the use of stored procedures, triggers, or similar development approachesMonitor performance and provide ongoing tuning of databasesInstall new database versions and upgradesSupport for development, test and production environmentsDevelop and maintain database administration procedures and operations to optimize database availabilityEvaluate and solicit feedback on processes to identify areas of improvement for optimizing transactionsAssist with impact analysis of changes to database objectsRequirements:Experience with entity-relationship diagrams and relational database development toolsExperience in Structured Analysis and Design techniques, data dictionaries, database schemas, and database securityExperience in investigating, analyzing, and modeling corporate data, including corporate databases, application systems, and associated interfaces. Also, ensure the appropriate design, configuration, integration, and installation of database management system applications.Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, and three years or more of related full-time, paid experience as a SQL Server administrator.Strong initiative and leadership skills, strong work ethics, responsibility, and dedicationAbility to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Strong verbal and writing skillsRequired Skills and Information:5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent experience.Expert knowledge in Windows Server, SQL Server, Azure cloud platform, and specifically SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage account, and Azure security fundamentalsExperience implementing High availability (Always-on).Strong Knowledge of SQL.Knowledge of Python is preferred.Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on logical troubleshooting.
