SQL Developer

Insight Global are seeking a Senior SQL Developer to join the Index Delivery & Product team for a leading global financial markets organisation.

This position requires 3 days onsite per week in Fort Mill, South Carolina for a 12-month contract.

The Senior SQL Developer will join an Index Migration team responsible for moving index configurations, calculation logic, and historical index data from legacy platforms onto strategic index management platforms. This is a highly data-focused position centred on SQL development, database engineering, data analysis, migration, and reconciliation rather than traditional application development.

You will investigate complex data models and existing index structures, determine effective migration approaches, map and transform data between systems, and validate historical records to ensure accuracy and integrity. Working closely with business SMEs, product teams, and engineers, you will take ownership of migrations from initial discovery through completion.

This is an AI-first engineering environment where developers are encouraged to use AI tools responsibly to accelerate analysis and improve productivity while maintaining accountability for the quality and accuracy of their work.

Must-Have Requirements Include:

• Strong SQL development experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Hands-on experience working with Sybase databases.
• Proven experience analysing and working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience supporting data migration, platform migration, or transformation projects.
• Ability to investigate existing systems and determine appropriate migration approaches.
• Experience mapping and transforming data across different data models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate complex technical and business challenges.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to understand requirements and data relationships.
• Experience using AI tools within the software development, engineering, or data analysis lifecycle.
• Financial Services, Capital Markets, or Index Management experience.

• Experience with Equity Indices or Index Calculation methodologies.
• Experience migrating historical datasets between platforms.
• Understanding of index configurations and index lifecycle management.
• Exposure to C#/.NET applications.
• Exposure to UI-based applications alongside database platforms.
