Database DeveloperThe Database Developer will work with a team of database developers and database administrators to support an active program of application development - creating new structures, updating existing ones and managing data within large, complex databases. This is a great opportunity to learn a new domain and a new skillsets in a dynamic environment.Candidate must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a CBP public trust. Candidates that have the following clearances CBP/ICE/USCIS Public Trust, or a Top Secret will gain reciprocity.
Candidate must be local to the National Capital Region.Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years in database development rolesExperience in data profiling, cleansing, reporting, data staging, ETL jobsStrong experience creating complex SQL in complex data environmentsStrong experience troubleshooting, tuning SQL and writing performance queriesExperience in writing DDL, DML and DCLHands-on experience with PostgreSQL database developmentExperience writing Python scriptsExperience with Git/version controlAWS experience including data migration, validation, data pipelines, CloudWatch, Kibana and DynatraceAbility to learn new tools quickly as needed to provide new ideas for solving problemsAbility and desire to work with other program staff and customers to reach design decisions within given constraintsExcellent diplomacy and communication skills with both clients and technical staffPreferred Skills and Experience:Experience working with federal government clientsExperience with Oracle/DB2/SQLServer/MySQl/TerradataExperience with Databricks, PySpark, Liquibase, DMSExperience in database administrationExperience with Agile methodology and use of Jira for trackingMust be willing to learn DB2 if not already a skill setThe likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
