Job TitleApplicant will train with experienced service technicians to learn to perform diagnostic, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer agricultural equipment with a focus in application equipment repair. Ideal candidate will have reliable attendance and a strong willingness to learn about mechanics. Applicant will work/train out of the Perry, IL location but will eventually primarily work out in the field on agriculture and application equipment in the Perry/Winchester/White Hall areas.ResponsibilitiesLearns and performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipmentParticipates in company provided training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeLearns knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned dutiesJob RequirementsBasic diesel mechanic experience along with a desire to learn about application equipment is requiredAbility to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual proceduresProficient oral and written communication skillsAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesAbility to use computer applicationsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base hourly wage for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.In Season Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 7am-12pm OR 7am-3pm (rotation determined by store) Off Season/Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm *In Season Hours may be extended during peak seasons (planting, harvest, or any other peak selling season) to meet the needs of the store.
