The opportunities are endless.Job OverviewThe Spray Technician is responsible for safely and effectively applying fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with all Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) regulations. This role operates largely independently in the field while collaborating closely with the Fertilization Team to deliver high-quality lawn and plant health care services, as well as pest management.

In addition to performing applications, the Spray Technician maintains excellent client service while onsite, ensures accurate recordkeeping for regulatory, SDS, and OSHA compliance, and coordinates necessary materials and equipment to complete daily routes efficiently.Responsibilities and DutiesApply fertilizers and pesticides according to recommended rates and application procedures on both commercial and residential propertiesBlend products according to recommended rates and proceduresComplete required documentation, application records, and compliance reporting per SDS and OSHA standardsInspect properties for lawn and plant health concerns or cross-selling opportunities and communicate findings to department managerSafely transport, mix, and handle chemicals according to label requirementsWear and enforce proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesPerform regular safety inspections and inventory of equipment, including company vehicleMaintain all equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working order at all timesAssist with cross-training and support other production teams as neededDeliver professional, courteous communication and service to clients when onsiteOther duties as assignedJob RequirementsHigh school and/or college degree is preferredLicensed Commercial Pesticide Applicator, including Core, 3A, and 3B required or be willing to obtainIndustry specific certifications such as CGIP, ideal but not requiredAbility to work independently and manage daily routes effectivelyPossess superior interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues, and management, and do so with excellent written and verbal communicationStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipPossess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver's License with clean driving record.
