Sports Podiatrist

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Sports Podiatrist to join their expanding Orthopedics and Sports Medicine program in Sacramento, CA. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Sutter Health's flagship 120,000-square-foot Orthopedics and Sports Medicine destination center, providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care to athletes across Northern California. The successful candidate will deliver specialized foot and ankle care with a focus on sports-related injuries and performance optimization, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.

• Designed to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care for athletes and active individuals throughout Northern California
• Serves patients ranging from youth and high school athletes to collegiate, professional, and recreational athletes
• Offers a seamless, multidisciplinary patient experience
• Close collaboration with orthopedic sports medicine surgeons, foot and ankle surgeons, primary care sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and advanced practice providers

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive foot and ankle care with a focus on sports-related injuries, overuse conditions, fracture management, return-to-play evaluations, biomechanics, and performance optimization
• Help build a premier sports medicine destination
• Participate in community outreach initiatives
• Participate in athlete education initiatives
• Participate in program development initiatives

Compensation

• Salary range: $300,000 - $350,000 /Yr.
• Sign-on bonus

Requirements

• DPM degree from an accredited institution
• Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR), with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle training preferred
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in sports medicine, biomechanics, and athletic injury management
• Experience treating acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions in active populations preferred
• Expertise in non-operative and operative management of sports-related foot and ankle injuries
• Interest in collaboration with orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and athletic performance teams
• Strong commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and multidisciplinary practice
• Community engagement, educational, and program development interests strongly preferred
