Overview
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure‑eligible clinical faculty position.
Responsibilities
- Clinical: Assume and develop a spine practice of varying complexity and cover approximately 20% of the department's spine call.
- Education: Support resident education and research, including supervision and teaching in the operating room, inpatient wards, clinic, and labs; participate in fellow, resident, and medical student teaching sessions, and in regional and national presentations.
- Research: Engage in clinical trials and clinical research projects, apply for internal and external grants to support this research, and publish results.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have an MD and completion of a residency in neurological surgery. Candidates must have significant surgical experience and a demonstrated track record of successful research activity. Fellowship training in neurological surgery is strongly preferred. Minimally invasive techniques are welcomed.
Compensation and Tenure
Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience.
