Part-Time Speech Therapist
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Part-Time Speech Therapist Consultant / Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students based on their individual educational and developmental needs.
This position is primarily remote , with services provided virtually whenever appropriate. However, depending on the needs of the student and individual case requirements, the Speech Therapist Consultant may be required to provide in-person therapy, evaluations, assessments, or testing .
This is a part-time consultant position and does not include health insurance or other employee benefits .
Responsibilities
The Speech Therapist Consultant will:
- Provide individual and/or small-group speech and language therapy services in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), service plans, or identified needs.
- Conduct speech and language evaluations, assessments, and testing as assigned.
- Provide virtual speech therapy services when appropriate.
- Provide in-person services on a case-by-case basis when required for therapy, evaluations, assessments, or testing.
- Develop appropriate treatment plans and speech/language goals based on student needs and evaluation results.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of all services provided.
- Prepare evaluation reports, progress reports, therapy notes, and other required documentation within established timelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, parent conferences, and consultations as requested.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, special educators, related service providers, advocates, and other members of the student's educational team.
- Provide recommendations regarding speech, language, communication, articulation, fluency, and other areas within the scope of speech-language pathology.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable professional, educational, and privacy requirements.
Work Arrangement
This is a part-time, primarily remote consultant position . Most therapy sessions, meetings, consultations, and documentation may be completed virtually when appropriate.
The consultant must be available to provide in-person services on a case-by-case basis , particularly when evaluations, assessments, testing, or an individual student's needs require face-to-face services.
Qualifications
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the jurisdiction(s) where services will be provided.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related accredited program.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, if applicable.
- Experience working with children and/or school-aged students preferred.
- Knowledge of IEPs, special education procedures, and school-based speech and language services preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare professional evaluation reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel for occasional in-person services when required.

This is a part-time consultant position with scheduling based on assigned cases, student availability, service requirements, and evaluation timelines.
