HCA Solutions is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Therapist to fill a part-time position at the Stockley Center in Georgetown, DE.

This position requires approximately 32 hours per week. Scheduled work hours will be mutually agreed upon.

The focus of the Speech Therapist at Stockley Center would be to provide professional speech therapy services directly, working closely with other specialists that provide services. The Speech Therapist needs to be comfortable with the interventions required for chronic health conditions, adults neuro-developmental medicine, geriatric issues, enteral tubes and tracheostomies. It is extremely critical that the Speech Therapist work closely with the nursing and administrative departments to view themselves as partners of the larger interdisciplinary team. The Speech Therapist will report directly to the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities

Direct therapy and treatment services to individuals and groups.
Design of non-direct, role release programs and interventions to be implemented by direct contract staff.
Conduct evaluations and assessments.
Develop and implement learning plans.
Conduct brief or limited scope consultations.
Communicate clearly and effectively in writing and orally.
Train staff as part of Stockley Center's in-service/orientation training program regarding specific program plan implementation.
Document care, treatment and interventions.
Participate in wheelchair/seating design system clinic.
Pursue funding for assistive technology devices and complete paperwork.
Capable of submitting direct claims to Medicaid, Medicare and other private insurance companies.
Complete occupational therapy competencies.
Document resident care services in residents' records.
Requirements:

Licensed and in good standing with the State of Delaware.
At least two (2) years of experience with individuals with cognitive and physical impairments.
At least two (2) years of experience with basic skills that are needed for evaluation and implementation of risk fall assessments, safety restraint reduction, complex seating and mobility related to wheelchair, splinting, activities of daily living assessments, environmental modifications, aquatic therapies, home evaluations and advanced sensory motor evaluations.
