Corewell Health Hospital Trenton is a 193‑bed acute care teaching hospital that sponsors nine university‑affiliated residency programs. The hospital opened its doors to the Trenton community in 1961 and became part of Corewell Health in September 2014. In addition to comprehensive medical and surgical care, the hospital offers private beds, a medical and surgical intensive care unit, and obstetrical care.

Scope of Work

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide therapeutic services, including evaluation, treatment, and education.
  • Monitor the treatment activities of Certified Occupational Therapists (COTAs) and aides.
  • Complete patient evaluations in accordance with established standards of care and practice.
  • Plan and provide treatment to assigned patients as appropriate, following established standards of care and practice.
  • Document all services per department standards.
  • Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and job‑related hazards.
  • Follow exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees, fostering a professional and courteous environment.
  • Promote effective working relations and collaborate with the department/unit team and other departments to meet goals and objectives.
  • Maintain an updated license and submit evidence of status to supervisor/manager within two weeks of receipt of a new or updated license.

Standard Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy school.
  • Successful completion of a clinical internship.
  • Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience (preferred).
  • Current state OT license.
  • BLS certification.

Weekly Scheduled Hours – 40

Hours of Work – 7:30 am – 4:00 pm; 8 am – 4:30 pm

Days Worked – Monday – Friday

Weekend Frequency – Variable weekends
