Speech Pathologist -Speech Therapy

Job Summary

Provides diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders.

Adheres to state and federal regulatory license, certification and accrediting requirement guidelines.

Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience: Master's Degree or foreign equivalent: Required

Two years' speech language pathology experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications: Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: Required

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP): Required

Essential Functions

Reviews patient information before evaluations and during course of treatment.

Conducts and documents comprehensive patient assessments.

Assists in data collection of patient outcomes.

Instructs and directs support staff, as outlined in national and state Practice Acts.

Supervises assistants and support staff.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Staffing Per Shift, And Shift Start/End Times: SLP 2-3/shift, OT/COTA 4-6/shift, PT/PTA 5-8/shift 8 hour shifts, 5 shifts/week Full time (* option for 7:30 or 8:30 start times) Schedule Requirements: Call Required? NO Weekend Coverage Required? Yes Weekends are required and typically for contract therapy we prefer scheduling most weekends to meet staffing needs with alternative weekday comp days. Ex: Sun, Monday, Thurs, Friday, Saturday (Tues-Wed are the comp days), OR Tues-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday Additional Unit Information: EMR System: Cerner until August 30, 2026 (Epic) Special Equipment Used: Arjo lift equipment is available Special Procedures Performed: Speech (MBSS- TIMS for video swallow studies) Scrubs: Not provided.
