POSITION SUMMARY

The position is a part‑time Speech Pathology role based in Phoenix, Arizona, providing screening, evaluation, and rehabilitation services for patients with speech, language, cognitive‑communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency disorders. The therapist will design and deliver individualized treatment plans, document patient progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Evaluates patients’ functional abilities and limitations to determine appropriate intervention and develop a plan of care and treatment goals, as ordered by physician or other referral source.
  2. Implements individualized treatment plans that consider patients’ physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, and age‑specific needs; ensures plans are evidence‑based and re‑ evaluates them as needed to maximize patient benefit.
  3. Educates patients, families, and other care providers to promote participation and attainment of therapeutic program goals; provides clear home program instructions.
  4. Documents patient treatment according to professional and regulatory standards.
  5. Participates in training other staff and students.
  6. Follows plan of care to accomplish functions within established procedures and scope of practice; makes independent judgments based on specialized knowledge and communicates with supervisor regarding unusual situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
  • Current licensure in the state of practice; Certificate of Clinical Competence or documented acceptance in a Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers; strong interpersonal communication and human relation skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications commonly used in an automated patient‑care environment.
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required at time of hire and throughout employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Additional related education and/or experience.
