This position is responsible for providing speech‑language pathology services to a pediatric population, from neonate to adolescent, including evaluation and treatment in the areas of communication and swallowing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with communication and swallowing disorders/delays, demonstrating knowledge of normal growth and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate services. Uses pediatric‑based behavior management strategies and matches diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to age and disability of the child. Establishes appropriate treatment plan with age‑appropriate goals and target timeframes, discussed with family and mutually agreed upon.
• Maintain appropriate documentation per the Policies & Procedures Manual in compliance with JCAHO and CARF standards, including participation in Total Quality Management.
• Build and maintain rapport within the department, hospital, and community, professionally interacting with physicians, families, and hospital/community personnel.
• Evaluate recommended needs for equipment and supplies.
• Assist in the monitoring of speech pathology students.
• Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Education

Master’s Degree (or higher) in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited university.

Experience

Pediatric experience.

Additional Requirements

• AZ Department of Health Services license (must be obtained prior to start date).
• AZ Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card (must be obtained prior to start date).
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ASHA certification or in clinical fellowship year (CFY).
