Speech Pathologist I - CDD
The Center for Disabilities and Development is looking to hire a full-time Speech Pathologist I. This position will diagnose and provide clinical services for patients who may or do have a communication disorder.
Characteristic duties and responsibilities include selecting, administering, and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and/or clinical procedures to provide for differential diagnosis of patients' communication status. Coordinating diagnostic results with those from other professions, planning, directing, conducting, or participating in habilitative and rehabilitative programs including counseling, guidance, and clinical work regarding appropriate modes of communication for a patient, predicting potential benefit to patient from clinical work, initiating and maintaining functional, comprehensive records concerning each patient, providing information to other professionals regarding status and program needs of patients in order to facilitate continuity of services, counseling patients, families, and others concerning the management of the patient's communication disorder including the social and psychological problems associated with it, instructing and supervising graduate students in speech pathology and audiology, training individuals in other professions in speech pathology techniques and procedures, training, scheduling, assigning, and evaluating work of support staff, participating in service training programs in speech pathology and/or related professions, participating in research to develop diagnostic and remedial techniques and procedures for communication disorders and other research pertaining to communication processes, and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.

Required Qualifications: A Master's degree in speech pathology is required. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology issued by the American Boards of Examiners of Speech Pathology and Audiology of the American Speech and Hearing Association or qualifications equivalent to such certification is required. An individual is considered to possess such equivalent qualifications if s/he meets the academic, practicum, and supervised experience requirements for certification and has achieved an acceptable score on the National Examination in Speech Pathology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Desired Qualifications: Some (6 months – 1 year) experience in Speech Pathology is desirable.
