Speech Pathologist

Role Overview

A Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and develops treatment plans for patients with speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing issues. Services are provided in outpatient rehab settings, with opportunities for professional growth, including training in modified barium swallow studies and working with pediatric and adult populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments in collaboration with physicians
• develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• educate patients and families
• document evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge plans according to departmental protocols
• serve as a resource for staff and families regarding rehabilitation services
• ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ethical practices
• participate in staff meetings and ongoing education

Qualifications & Skills

• Must have a graduate degree from an accredited speech-language pathology program
• hold current licensure and certifications (Speech-Language Pathologist, BLS)
• possess effective communication, customer service, teamwork, and basic computer skills
• demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to safety and infection control standards
