Job Summary
Diagnoses and treats patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Develops therapy plans to maximize communication and swallowing safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations of speech, language, swallowing.
- Develop and implement therapy plans.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) from ASHA when eligible.
- A current state license to practice as a Speech Therapist.
- At least one year of clinical experience (preferred).
- Current state license must be in good standing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Expertise in communication and swallowing disorders.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to educate patients and families.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Assist patients during therapy activities.
- Frequent sitting, standing, light lifting.
- Healthcare and LTC facility work environment.
