Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (Speech Therapist) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will evaluate and treat adult and geriatric residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders (dysphagia) in a skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation setting.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing function.
Design and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to resident goals.
Evaluate and manage dysphagia, recommending appropriate diet textures and therapeutic swallowing techniques.
Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team—including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and physicians to ensure holistic patient care.
Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and federal standards.
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies and home plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
Licensure: Active (or eligible for) Speech-Language Pathology licensure in the state of Maryland.
Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong Clinical Fellows (CFY) with relevant adult/SNF experience may be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), post-acute rehab, or long-term care environment preferred.
Skills: Strong clinical knowledge of adult neurogenic disorders and dysphagia management; excellent communication and teamwork skills.
