Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Surprise, AZ team. You will evaluate and treat students with IEPs for speech and language services, work directly with children in therapy sessions, implement treatment plans, and supervise SLPAs during therapy sessions with students.

Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • ASHA Certification
  • Experience with pediatric populations and a passion for helping children with speech and language challenges
  • Knowledge of speech therapy techniques and methodologies, including therapy materials and tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect with children and their families
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a therapy team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude to create a supportive environment

Responsibilities

  • Therapy Support: Implement treatment plans and therapy techniques; monitor and document progress; collaborate with SLPAs to adjust strategies based on student needs
  • Student Interaction and Engagement: Create a warm, child-friendly therapeutic environment; engage students in activities to stimulate communication and language development; build rapport with students and families
  • Administrative Support: Maintain student records and progress notes in compliance with AZ Department of Education; coordinate with school staff for scheduling
  • Communication and Collaboration: Provide regular updates to families; collaborate with school staff for multidisciplinary approaches; reinforce therapeutic strategies at home
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and stay updated on best practices in pediatric speech therapy
