Imagine a career that truly gives voice to your passion and purpose. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the bustling and inviting community of Tallahassee, your work will encompass far more than simply addressing communication disorders. You will unlock potential, enhance confidence, and nurture connections — guiding children in their early speech journeys and assisting seniors in regaining their independence.

This role offers the unique chance to make a positive impact across various age groups in an environment that combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether your interests lie in pediatric language acquisition, adult neurogenic disorders, or cognitive-linguistic therapy for the elderly, your professional fulfillment awaits here.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that address both immediate goals and long-term needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
  • Implement focused speech therapy interventions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, and swallowing in a one-on-one format.
  • Work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans.
  • Provide education to patients and their families, enhancing support during their therapeutic journey.
  • Participate in periodic inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity of care.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous learning and collaboration with peers to stay informed about advances in the field.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Essential Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for individuals of all ages, with a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adaptability in therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
Perks of the Position
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Flexible scheduling that promotes a healthy work-life balance and offers varied caseloads.
  • Opportunities to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric services.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
  • Financial support for continuing education and professional development.
  • A collaborative environment that prioritizes quality care and ongoing learning.
A Career So Enriching, You Will Feel at Home

In this role, you will be more than a provider of speech therapy — you will join a community-focused mission to empower voices, strengthen connections, and create joyous moments through the mere act of communication.

Here, you will collaborate with like-minded clinicians who treat each other with respect and warmth. The atmosphere is one of encouragement, where each patient is cherished; we trust you to help them narrate their story.
