Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies that cater to immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide education for patients and families to support progress outside of clinical appointments.
  • Participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions occasionally to ensure smooth continuity of care.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field through continual professional development and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
