Description
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Create tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver specialized one-on-one speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language fluency, voice, and swallowing difficulties.
- Engage in collaboration with physical, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish cohesive treatment strategies.
- Provide valuable education to patients and families to support recovery progress beyond your sessions.
- Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the entire treatment journey.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay up to date with advancements in your field through ongoing education and collaborative discussions with peers.
Education and Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
