Overview
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in a middle school setting within Illinois for the upcoming school year. This contract role provides specialized services to students within a low incidence program, fostering communication development in a collaborative educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to middle school students
- Manage a caseload of approximately 20 students with low incidence needs
- Conduct evaluations and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) while ensuring compliance with documentation standards
- Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to address student communication goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions to support student progress
- Apply evidence-based practices to enhance student learning and communication outcomes
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders required
- Active Illinois SLP license necessary
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) will also be considered
- Experience working with middle school students and/or low incidence populations preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills essential
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting
Details
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
- Contract position starting at the beginning of the upcoming school year
- Located in a supportive Illinois school district
Compensation
- Range from $41.40 to $61.40 per hour
- Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals
