Assess patients of all ages, from children to elderly adults, employing standardized evaluations and observational methods.
Craft tailored treatment plans that target both immediate goals and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
Conduct individualized speech therapy interventions concentrating on communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
Partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care plans.
Provide education for patients and families to promote progress outside of therapy sessions.
Assist with infrequent inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the patient's journey.
Maintain meticulous documentation that adheres to all state, federal, and organizational standards.
Stay abreast of industry advancements through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
A strong understanding of evidence-based practices for all age groups, alongside insight into developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Ability to adjust therapy approaches to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Excellent clinical judgment and adept problem-solving abilities.
Proficient with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
