Position Overview
The Speech Pathologist is responsible for facilitating the recovery of speech, language, swallowing and cognitive function for the patients who come through our facility.
Requirements
- Current Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of residency
- Current CPR certification
- At least 3 years of experience in a skilled nursing setting (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Create, administer, and organize individualized plans of treatment for patients.
- Instruct clients in techniques for more effective communication, including sign language, lip reading, and voice improvement.
- Educate patients and family members about communication techniques and strategies to cope with or avoid personal misunderstandings.
- Communicate with the dietary department regarding rehabilitation lunches for patients with swallow dysfunctions.
