Speech-Language Pathologist, SLP - (Clinic Based)

Setting: Outpatient Rehab Clinic

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our clinical teamin Greensboro, AL . In this outpatient role, you will provide holistic care to patients across the lifespan—from young children to seniors—addressing speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. You will work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical team alongside Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists to deliver individualized, goal-oriented care that restores function and improves our patients' overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Patient Evaluations: Conduct standardized and informal assessments for speech, articulation, expressive/receptive language, voice, fluency, swallowing/dysphagia, and cognitive-communication function.

Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop evidence-based plans of care tailored to each patient’s unique goals, diagnoses, and functional needs across the lifespan.

Therapeutic Interventions:

Administer targeted speech and language therapy to improve articulation, phonology, and expressive/receptive language skills.

Implement feeding and swallowing therapy (dysphagia management), incorporating oral-motor exercises and safe swallowing protocols.

Deliver cognitive-communication therapy to enhance memory, sequencing, problem-solving, safety awareness, and executive functioning.

Introduce compensatory strategies and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices as appropriate.

Patient & Family Education:

Educate patients, caregivers, and families on home exercise programs, safe swallowing precautions, and communication strategies to maintain progress outside the clinic.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Partner closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, and administrative staff to deliver coordinated, holistic care.

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain timely, precise clinical documentation (evaluations, daily progress notes, re-evaluations, and discharge summaries) in full alignment with state licensure requirements, ASHA guidelines, and facility standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited university program.
  • Licensure: Active (or eligible for) Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA).
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). (Clinical Fellows / CF-SLP may be considered based on supervision availability).
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • High level of intrinsic motivation, initiative, and adaptability.
  • Experience treating diverse patient populations across lifespan (pediatric to geriatric) in an outpatient setting is preferred.
