Looking for an SLP role where you can spend more time focused on your patients and less time chasing aggressive productivity numbers?

We’re hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to join an in-house rehabilitation team within a nonprofit senior living community in Seaford, DE.

This role works primarily with a geriatric population, treating a mix of swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive needs. Because therapy is provided in-house within a Continuing Care Retirement Community, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your residents and follow them across different levels of care.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate and treat dysphagia/swallowing disorders
• Provide speech, language, and cognitive-communication evaluations and treatment
• Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on each resident’s needs
• Treat geriatric residents with diagnoses such as dementia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological conditions
• Recommend swallowing strategies, diet modifications, and safety interventions when clinically appropriate
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on swallowing and communication strategies
• Collaborate closely with nursing, dietary, PT, OT, physicians, and other members of the care team
• Complete evaluations, progress notes, care plans, and discharge documentation
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
• Help residents maintain their highest possible level of communication, independence, and quality of life

What We're Looking For

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
• Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
• Active Delaware SLP license or eligibility for Delaware licensure
• Experience with geriatric and dysphagia populations preferred
• Skilled Nursing and/or outpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
• CCC-SLP required; Clinical Fellowship candidates are not being considered
