The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates and treats patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders across diverse populations.
The SLP performs comprehensive assessments, develops individualized plans of care, and implements evidence-based interventions in collaboration with patients and their families. The position requires ongoing documentation and communication of patient progress, adjustment of treatment plans as needed, and education and counseling to support positive patient outcomes.
The SLP also assists with discharge planning and supervises clinical fellows, students, and support personnel in accordance with professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on patient assessments and clinical needs.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve patient outcomes.
• Monitor and document patient progress throughout treatment.
• Communicate treatment progress and recommendations to patients, families, and relevant healthcare professionals.
• Adjust treatment plans based on patient response and ongoing clinical assessments.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families to support treatment goals and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Assist with discharge planning and recommendations for continued care.
• Supervise clinical fellows, students, and support personnel in accordance with applicable professional standards.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with facility policies and professional requirements.
Required Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current licensure as a Speech Therapist with the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based clinical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Experience evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Experience in an acute-care or rehabilitation healthcare environment.
