nJob Description:
nSpeech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a critical role in hospital settings, working with patients across various age groups and medical conditions. Their primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders. Their duties can vary, but include:
nResponsible for the evaluation and/or implementation of a treatment program for all referred patients.
nResponsible for contributing to the development and the upgrading of treatment programs and protocols.
nResponsible for the development and achievement of departmental goals, objectives, and performance improvement indicators.
nCompletes position responsibilities by following established guidelines & protocols within appropriate time frame.
nThe PT will complete documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies.
nThe therapist will participate in departmental operational plan.
nRequirements:
nMasters or Doctorate Degree in Communication Disorders for Speech Pathology from an accredited institution by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)
nNew graduates accepted but experience is preferred.
nLicensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky and Certified.
nCertificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year Eligible.
nBLS Certification Required.
