Speech Language Pathologist in Elgin, IL

Step into a dynamic school-based setting, making a difference as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a maternity leave coverage from December 2026 through May 2027. As the SLP-CCC, you'll be the key resource for students during a pivotal period of their education. You'll work full-time hours, equipped with the opportunity to impact individual learning and communication outcomes-while collaborating with supportive educational teams.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
• Professional Educator License (PEL) required
• Must hold Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
• Prior experience in a school setting or with adolescent/student populations preferred
• Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech and language therapy to high school students
• Conduct evaluations, write progress reports, and develop appropriate IEP goals
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student needs
• Document progress and adhere to district and state compliance requirements
• Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding communication disorders and strategies for intervention
• Adapt therapy approaches to meet individual student learning styles and needs
