Speech Language Pathologist
Applications are being accepted for the Speech Language Pathologist with Bloomfield Hills Schools. This is a Bloomfield Hills Education Association ("BHEA") bargaining unit position.
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
FTE: 1.0
POSITION PURPOSE
The Speech/Language Pathologist assists in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the Speech/Language Pathologist must work closely with the staff and administration of the cooperative and school district.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current ASHA CCC and full Michigan SLP license (no limited license)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience supporting students with disabilities in inclusive settings
- Proficiency in a range of instructional strategies and assistive technologies
- Knowledge of IDEA, Michigan special education law, and IEP processes
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and hearing disorders
- Develop and implement IEPs and progress monitoring plans
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
- Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed interventions
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment

- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills required
- Regular, dependable attendance is essential

COMPENSATION BENEFITS: Pursuant to the BHEA bargaining unit agreement, the current salary range for this position is $50,336 - $114,793. Placement offer on the BHEA salary schedule is commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
