School Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

As a School Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with communication disorders and language challenges. Essential functions include collaborating with supervising SLP to provide individual and group therapy sessions to address speech and language goals. You will also work with supervising SLP, teachers, and support staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom. Additionally, you will collaborate with supervising SLP to implement effective treatment plans based on individual student needs. Utilizing evidence-based practices, you will address articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders. You will also collaborate with supervising SLP, teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support a multidisciplinary approach to student success. Attending Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contributing to the development of goals and strategies, you will communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress. You will provide resources and guidance for extending speech and language support at home. Collaborating with supervising SLP, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and interventions. You will generate reports for IEP meetings and collaborate on data-driven decision-making. Staying current with advancements in speech-language pathology and educational practices, you will engage in continuous professional learning to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.

Travel Requirements: Limited travel to and from meetings may be required.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience working with students in a school setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in field (preferred). Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card. Valid Arizona State licensure or certification in field. Clearances: Measles/Mumps/Rubella Immunity/Vaccination. Valid I-9 form. AZ Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Terms of Employment: Salary schedule commensurate with education and experience for this position 186 work days per Board approved work calendar. Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the District Administration in accordance with Governing Board Policy.
