Job Description
The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA's) will be performing therapies, recording the notes of each visit, and following up with their patients. The SLPA will be empowered to build their schedule with a supervisor, and maintain it consistently. The SLPA will be given the tools (software/program) to facilitate the secretarial needs of their schedules (i.e., confirming appointments), and will be expected to have computer and smartphone literacy for this reason. Some traveling can be expected, as we also offer services not only at our offices but at the daycare centers and schools in the surrounding areas. The SLPA will meet with their supervisor at least once a month and work on therapy strategies.
Education/Certificates
B.S. in Communications Disorders, or a similar degree; License from the State of Florida.
Skills
English speaking; Bilingual (English, Spanish, French Creole); Computer literacy; Smartphone literacy.
Required Work Experience
At least 1 year working with children.
Responsibilities
Employ therapy proficiently; Maintain a consistent roster of patients; Organize your own schedule; Use the software and programs provided; Work with parents/guardians of the patient.
